Lauren is a 15 year UNschooling/homeschooling veteran, owner of Sequoia Park Forest School and the Board President for the nonprofit Yukon-based Homeschool Group known as “Barefoot Explorers”.
She has over 30 years of homesteading experience and wilderness skills from living and working in the Alaskan Bush. She has spent nearly two decades teaching and encouraging a love of the natural world to all ages!
Micah is a Jesus-loving mom of four active boys who enjoy the outdoors, getting messy and caring for animals. Micah has true patience and love for children, creating an environment where every child feels seen, valued and empowered to learn.
Alexa is an assistant play helper at Sequoia Park. She loves working with young children and volunteers regularly in her church youth programs. She is working on becoming certified as a life guard and wants to attend college to obtain a degree in Early Childhood Education.
“Bear” is the Sequoia Park mascot
This fluffy little guy loves kids and they love him! Shichons are very affectionate dogs that are playful, yet gentle, and naturally hypoallergenic. We utilize Bear in our learning environment to teach children how to care for the needs of a pet, how to properly handle an animal, and to assist in healing any past dog-related trauma.
